Caring for Your Refinished Surface
Wait 48 hours after the job before using your tub, shower or counter. After that, a little care keeps the finish looking new for years.
Everyday Cleaning
Use mild soap and water with a soft washcloth. Do not use scouring pads or abrasive cleaners, as they will dull the surface. Always review each cleaner's instructions and rinse thoroughly after cleaning.
Recommended Cleaners
Scrub Free · Simple Green · Mr. Clean · Bon Ami · Glass Plus / Windex · Formula 409 · Dawn · Joy · Fantastic
Do Not Use
Comet · Soft Scrub · Ajax · Bleach or cleaners with bleach · Ammonia or cleaners with ammonia · Steel wool or wire brushes · Harsh abrasives · Dyes or inks · Acetone
Drain Cleaners
Liquid drain cleaners are recommended over powders or crystals. When using a liquid drain cleaner, bail the standing water out of the bathtub and remove the drain plug. Use a funnel to prevent spills and apply the chemical directly down the drain. Always make certain that chemicals do not come in contact with the refinished surface. Use drain cleaners sparingly so they do not boil out and attack the refinished surface.
Special Instructions
1. Do not drop hard or heavy objects on the finish. This can cause chips. Contact Excellence Reglazing immediately for a repair if this happens. Failure to do so in a timely manner can cause further damage to the surrounding coating.
2. Do not use bath mats with suction cups. Suction cups react with minerals, pull in and around the cups, etch into the surface and cause the coating to lift.
3. Do not cut directly on, or place hot pans or pots on, refinished countertops.
4. Leaky faucets must be repaired and maintained. Failure to do so allows water to erode the finish and voids the warranty.
